Advanced Stand Up Comedy Classes Format

Stand Up Comedy Class #1 – You need not be prepared. Many will have nothing and improvise, some will have partial material, yet my suggestion is to come in with several ideas you might want to do a routine about. All are appropriate. You will spend 7 minutes on stage, then get feedback from Greg and the entire class. 2 gig Flash Drive required to record classes 1-5.

Study Group- arranged by students during the week.

Stand Up Comedy Class #2 – Everyone will do a 5 minute show–back to back with no feedback. Then, we will split into two groups and write on each person’s show for 20 to 25 minutes per person. Many people write much of their show during this class. Audio Recorder required for everyone for the writing section.

Study Group - arranged by students during the week.

Stand Up Comedy Class #3 – You will do your 7 minute show and get feedback from Greg and the entire class.
Study Group- arranged by students during the week.

Stand Up Comedy Class #4 – 7 minute show, then feedback from Greg and the entire class.

Study Group – arranged by students during the week.

Stand Up Comedy Class #5 – You’ll have fun performing your show at the Comedy Store (Belly Room) Free video taping included with your showcase. You must bring at least 5 guests.

Stand Up Comedy Class #6 – Back in class to review the video tape of your show with detailed feedback.

This are on-going stand up comedy classes. Along with developing material, there are many comedy breakthroughs to work toward. That’s why Greg treats everyone on an individual basis. If you have a particular goal, discuss it with Greg, so he, and the entire class, can offer support in helping you achieve your outcome.

For students who have been with me for a while, you can design your time in class to suit your purposes, like: dealing with hecklers, developing characters, preparing to be an Opener, improvisational sets, random performance of material, and so on. >If you can’t attend the workshop, the next best thing is to check out my new book:
